Kristine Lowe bio

Kristine Lowe, President

I have experienced more than my fair share of setbacks, frustrations, and detours throughout my adult life. However, Phi Theta Kappa always helped me get back on track. I first heard about the Honor Society in the 1990s before I graduated from De Anza College and transferred to UC Berkeley. Then years later when I returned to De Anza to embark on a career change from city planning to filmmaking, I applied for membership to Phi Theta Kappa. Since then, I enjoyed many happy moments as a Hallmark Award-winning chapter and regional officer, an award-winning independent film producer, and the first woman and third member of my family to earn a Master’s degree. The valuable skills I learned from Phi Theta Kappa’s programs and leadership opportunities are utilized every day in my film career and in my service as your President.

As President of the Nevada/California Regional Alumni Association, I will continue to maintain the Five Star standard set forth by our former Alumni Boards, and offer my enthusiastic support to my Alumni Officer teammates, our Region’s Officer and Coordinator Teams, and our 90+ chapters throughout the great states of Nevada and California. I look forward to sharing the valuable experiences I gleaned from Phi Theta Kappa through the “Tea @ 3:00” virtual events we host a few times a year, the Educational Forums we present during the Fall Leadership Conferences and Spring Conventions, and the many extraordinary events chapters invite us to attend.

I am tremendously honored to serve as your President, so please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about our Alumni Association, Phi Theta Kappa – or anything related to cooking, baseball, or cats. I love to talk about them all!

I wish you all continued success in your academic and career endeavors.

In Service,

Kristine Lowe
